About Kondo Syokai Marine
ROSA -
the first pleasure yacht ever registered in India - was built by Kondo Syokai Marine.
Since its formation Kondo Syokai Marine (KSM) has established a reputation for enterprise, quality and innovation which have been amply demonstrated at the Indian International Boat Show held in Cochin. The current product range includes yachts, powerboats, decked fishing boats and sailing dinghies.
KSM is made up of a highly skilled workforce, technical staff and consultants and is skilled in all aspects of small ship building and repair with competancies in steel, wood and FRP manufacture. KSM employs foreign technical staff as required - for example the first yachts from KSM were built under the supervision of British shipwrights.
KSM has 2 boatyards. These are located in India, in Cochin in the state of Kerala. The Mattencherry Yard has deep water berths and rails for the hauling and repair of large vessels of up to 80 feet length. The Kannamaly Yard has 4 covered fabrication bays and all the tooling and machinery necessary for the manufacture and repair of vessels to the highest standards. KSM also has mobile blasting equipment and provides a mobile blasting and painting service.
During the Asian Tsunami KSM worked with Rotary to provide replacement fishing boats for communities in Tamil Nadu. See here for details.
