KSM is committed to building fine boats of verifiable quality using traditional shipbuilding methods. KSM main fabrication yard is located in Kannamaly, close to Cochin. The Kannamaly Yard has 4 covered fabrication bays and all the tooling and machinery necessary for the manufacture of vessels to high standard. The bays are able to accommodate the manufacture of vessels up to 60' in length under full cover with additional room available for cover for vessels up to 80' if required.
The yard is equipped with the following:
- 3-phase power with a 75 KVA backup generator
- quality welding machines
- full range of usual power tools
- industrial blasting equipment - 250 CFM 2 stage tractor driven unit
- industrial wood working machines including planer-thicknessers, saw benches, band saws, table saws
The yard uses only skilled tradesmen and supervisors and has access to naval architecture and marine engineering services. Foriegn technical staff and supervisors are employed to advise and assist as required - for example the first Gazelles were built under supervision of British Shipwrights.
